Somehow, I don’t think the poster is that offensive. To me, they’re not saying anything wrong–that is what happened. Mary and Jospeh did go to Bethlehem because of a census. Do I think the poster is inappropriate? Yeah . . . but it has nothing to do with Mary and Jospeh. My issue is more because it’s targeting illegal immigrants, and I have my own opinions on that.
So, what’s your opinion. Do you think it’s blasphemous and why or why not?
It . . . doesn’t make any sense. What do Mary and Joseph registering with the census have to do with illegal immigration? Bethlehem was Joseph’s hometown, fercryingoutloud!
I don’t mind people using biblical stuff to compare and strengthen a message, but the two just don’t add up to me.
Mary and Joseph were law-abiding citizens and were only obeying the rule of the land. Illegal immigration is disobeying the law of the land. The ad didn’t even say what is wrong with the current immigration system (I’d like to know being an immigrant myself.)
This all only confuses me. They need to list out what is wrong with U.S. immigration. At this point, the use of the Christmas story only seems dishonest.
